Why and when would you come to Strategy Mapped (SM)? Firstly because you have a need, and secondly because SM are the primary or only providers servicing that need. Here are some scenarios:
Your organisation is in a planning process and needs to produce a document describing or defining a strategy, a plan, or something similar. It is unclear what form it should take, what components it requires, and how it will relate to or affect day to day activities. Members of the organisation have different opinions about this. Maybe a strategy has been developed, but the organisation is unsure of how to evaluate it or have confidence in committing to it.
SM can ensure your planning process leads to a fit for purpose document. SM will analyse it with you, and provide guidance on design, evaluation, and risk identification.
You are considering engaging a consulting firm (other than SM) to help you with your planning or strategy.
SM will review your intention and where appropriate provide insight into the business concepts and methods, to assist you in getting value for money. For example, selecting strategic frameworks and models.
You are aware that members of your organisation have information and ideas on how to run it, but it is diverse and difficult to analyse and coordinate. You are considering putting together workshops or meetings to address this.

Most writing and discussion of strategy is unclear and complicated. It is meant to be. Its purpose is to impress and exclude, much like a doctor’s Latin script.
